Drinks and nibbles after Christmas See you there: Tuesday 7th January in the upstairs hall. I would be absolutely delighted if you would encourage any others you believe might consider singing with us to attend, and get to know us, on the night. Carols from Kings College 2013 Did anyone hear a carol that you believe we might enjoy learning for 2014? Do let me know, if so. Prayers, please..... Our Epiphany Mass is being said for the Welfare of George Norton. Please also continue to remember, Anne Mitra, Madeleine's husband and Mary & Frank Elliott. No Quiz Question this month! Enjoy your Christmas and New Year break. |
Christmas Concert What can I say - you were amazing! It was just wonderful!! You should be so pleased with what you so obviously and so happily achieved. Special mention to our soloists, Jeannette, Andrew and Rob who all rose the the occasion, and to the descanters for being so true on all those top Gs and As; a thrilling sound! Also to Antony, who was on top form, and, despite having to dash off for yet another concert, entertained us right to the end! Well done to you all for the hard work you put in - thoroughly worthwhile; a Carol Concert to remember for you. Thanks also to our programmes sellers and collectors on the night, George, Gordon, John and Leo. The audience loved it, and many said so to me afterwards. They showed it in the magnificent retiring collection for the SVP of £319.23. With 'in lieu of cards' monies, some of which has still to come in, we shall be passing the SVP a total of £400+. Well done to you all for the Programme sales - I will have enough to buy a couple sets of new carols for us for 2014. Midnight Mass Just lovely! What a lovely Mass this always is. Another huge 'well done' to those of you who sang. Thank you so much, especially Bernard for waggling expertly and not missing a single verse! The delay 'downstairs' was a result of no collectors coming forward, and, when they did, not knowing where to find the collection baskets! Well done cantors for being spot on throughout. I didn't mention the late start to Father Deo (unlike Father Tom, who 'raised an eyebrow' to me over us over-running midnight with our carols last year!). |
