Ordination News

Parishioner Ged Perkins will be Ordained Deacon by Archbishop Peter Smith at the 6.30pm Mass on Friday 17 June at St. George's Cathedral. He will serve St. Bart's. We wish him well as he approaches the end of his journey to Ordination and very much look forward to his ministry with us. Details have been in the Parish Newsletter. I shall be attending, and hopefully the parish will lay on a coach!!

2016 Choir Outing 12th June

You now have, thanks to Jeannette and Ken, all you need to know about lunch. The coach timings will will be revealed shortly. The music Father Kaz has agreed to is shown HERE, and has been chosen as it is all familiar repertoire for us all. I'll confirm all the details after visiting the parish, and playing the organ there, on Friday 3rd June. Ken will be our Cantor, and the Mass Intention will be for Patsy Hopkins RIP. Father Pawl, the curate, will be saying the Mass as Father Kaz is away from the parish that weekend.

The 2016 Music Workshop

Confirmed as Saturday 25 June; starting at 2.30pm and ending with singing at the 6.15 Mass. I will be making an all-Masses appeal to parishioners to sign-up and participate on the 4/5 June. The music will be chosen once I have some idea of the likely make-up of the attendees.

Cantors

Please note that, with Ken's return, I have recast the Cantors in list order from next term:

2 October (27th Sunday) JMR
6 November (32nd Sunday) AJM
20 November (Christus Rex) KPH
4 December (2nd Advent) RAB

The next Dates List will be issued at the beginning of July, and available to all at Music Checking on 5 July.

Plainchant Choir

The next monthly practice will take place for just 25 minutes  from 7.30pm promptly on Tuesday 14 June to prepare for the 19th June 11:30 Mass. The final practice this term will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12 July. I have to say that these short practices have been a huge boost to the confidence of the singing at the monthly Plainchant Masses.

First Communion Masses

Thank you so much to those who were able to attend - hugely appreciated by the FHC Catechists, and the families involved.

Prayers, please.....

..... for Mary & George Meyern, George Norton, Christine & Eugene, Maria & Family, Anne Mitra, Mary & Frank Elliott, Madeleine and her husband and two Choir members' special intentions. Please also remember Jeannette's mother, Hazel, Andrew's mother, Josie and Carole's husband, Mike in your prayers.
