St. Bartholomew's Polyphony Choir UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2017

Choir starts again....

.... on Tuesday 19 September. Look forward to seeing you all again (honestly!!).

Parish Annual General Meeting

Do put 11 October at 19:45 into your diaries. It's an opportunity for all of us to have an input into parish life, and help form the year ahead.

Christmas Music

The very draft programme is HERE. There is much to be discussed before it is finalised.

Ave Vera Virginitas.....

..... is a short unaccompanied piece in your folders. The newly-set short score is HERE. Having opened it to view, click on either the small sound file HERE, or the more nuanced rendition HERE to listen to as you follow the score. Hopefully this will aid learning, especially for the tenors as the success of the rendition depends on their vocal subtlety!

The September Jigsaw - a tricky one, but still with just 48 pieces again! Drag and drop, and.... see you soon!!

Plainchant Choir

Jane will advise you if there is to be a practice on Tuesday 12 September  for the Plainchant Mass on 17 September.

Cantors

19:45 Practices: Jeannette 26 September, Ken 31 October, Richard 21 November and John 28 November.

Forthcoming Music/Dates List

September's Thanksgiving Mass HERE, and October's HERE. The latest Dates List for your diaries is HERE.

Prayers, please

John Windsor (who seems to be making a slow but steady recovery), Terry Jupp's sister Susan, Ken's niece, Carole Winch, Mary & Frank Elliott, Maria & Family, and Jeannette's mother Hazel all remain in need of prayers.

For your coffee breaks

The Flavour Conductor from Mander Organs - scroll down for videos.

A quite fabulous 'alternative' arrangement of J.S. Bach's famous organ Toccata & Fugue in D Minor.

The perils of socialising in a dog collar!

Silver Service: Croydon's street lighting.

London's Alley's from Ian Visits with more to come from him....

From the Beeb: Why I've cut my sermons down to five minutes.

Over 54,000 free books to download at Project Gutenberg.

Look at Life Taxi Taxi 1960.

And finally.... Soul Limbo - "How's Zat!!"

Tuesday 9 January 2018.....

..... is our first Tuesday Practice after Christmas. This is an early warning that the same evening also sees the first of the 2018 parish First Holy Communion sessions for parents in the hall, so parking may be an issue if you cannot arrive on the early side of eight.

Vivaldi Gloria Concert

Not forgotten. Progress report after the summer break.

STOP PRESS - Our planned October Coffee Morning.....

.....on 28 October is cancelled.
